Made with a grant from Focus Features, a boy comes into mysterious abilities and is branded a demon. Relying on a jaded street thug for protection, the pair go on the run. Set at the intersection of sci-fi and superstition in South Africa, questions arise on whether the boy can stay one step ahead of his pursuers, and, importantly, learn to control his burgeoning power.
